Smart girl...
I had Alie work on a preschool workbook today and she did surprisingly well. It is made for a 4 year old, but I thought I might see if she could do some of the work sheets. She did so well that we completed half the book! I'm so proud of her!! I really didn't think she would understand half of the stuff. She even knew what was greater and lesser. She started loosing interest when we got to the "compare the first sounds" section. Example: out of Monkey, Tree, Mouse, which two have the same sound? She wasn't quite getting it.

She told me today that she wants to go to school to be with friends, BUT she is not potty trained. We've tried everything in the book, every single method in existence. She is just too laid back and stubborn to want to train. Her best friend trained right after turning 2. Alie could care less. She will go when her friend says she has to go, but she doesn't see this friend nearly enough to get trained. The good news is... I am going to watch said friend for a week or two come next month, so Alie may become trained! I really hope she will follow her friends example and just do it. Al really is a brilliant girl and knows how to go in the potty, she currently just doesn't care enough. Guess it's not in her priorities ;) I'm not really worried about it though, I know kids who didn't train until they were 4! I mean they still wore diapers. They were just WAY too stubborn lol!! It's funny how someone so small can have so much control over mom and dad (that m&d can't really do anything about).

What did she say?
Alie was reading the "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" book to me today. Her version of reading it is asking me what it is, and I say I dunno. Then she tells me "it's a blue horse" or whatever. When we got to the teacher page, I said "I dunno" and she kept saying this phrase over and over, and it was the same thing every time. I couldn't understand her though. So I said "its a teacher" and she said "no, its a .....". I still couldnt understand her.

So after the 5th time of her reading it to me, when we got to the teacher page, I FINALLY understood what she was calling the lady. She told me "It's a Peggy Hill!" OMG! I died laughing!! This maybe only funny to me, but I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. She just kept telling me "It's a Peggy Hill!!" If you go look at the book, she is right, it does resemble Peggy.

I'll try to post picture comparisons as soon as my dang camera works :)

When Alie grows up...
She told me today that she wants to be a Rock Star. I asked her how she was going to be one and she pointed towards her keyboard piano. I asked her if she was talking about the piano and she said "Yup, I want to be a Rock Star!" LOL!!! I wished her good luck.

I will be updating soon! We had Alie's birthday party yesterday, so I have lots of pictures. I also have a ton of pictures from this past month that I need to upload too. I can't believe she is 3 years old already!!

I saw your message Tanya! We miss you too! Alie has asked me a few times if we could go see Tanya. Can't wait till you get to come back and visit us. Hope work is treating you nice and I bet you're glad to be back in the Ukraine.

Today is Alie's first day wearing BIG GIRL panties!! Woohoo! She went potty on the potty twice. I only started the training this evening.

Kriss was goofing around with her later on and thought it would be funny to give her a wedgie. She didn't like that AT ALL! She kept pointing her finger at daddy and shouting "Don't touch the butt!" Cracked me up!! I don't know which was funnier, seeing her little fat cheeks with little nemo undies wedged in the middle or her shouting at Kriss. I don't think I have laughed that hard in a long while!!

I would have recorded her saying this, but my batteries are dead in the recorder. Maybe I can get her to say it tomorrow.

I finally figured out how to use my WAV recorder. I recorded a short bit of Alie. I hope this is something that will be of use. Click the link to open the file.. choose open. You will need a program on your computer that plays WAV files like Winamp. You can download it for free!

I have also created a colum on the right to keep all of her recordings, so they are easier to find as I add more. It is the second box labeled "Sound". Hope you love these Grandpa, Grandma, and Jamie!!

Here is the first recording:

Some recent pics of her... and a halter top & hair bow that I made!

Oh and in the last picture it has my garden in the background, which I am very proud of! So no making fun of my weeds!! Actually, they aren't weeds. I like the wildflower garden look, so all those tall plants are really flowers. My sister actually thought they were weeds and tried to rip one out of the ground. My garden is like my second child, so I had a fit!

Have I mentioned HOW MUCH I LOVE MY BABY GIRL? She just fills my heart to the brim with happiness! I could just kiss her fat cheeks and tummy all day long. She is SO intelligent too, I swear!

Today she some how sneaked into the kitchen when neither parent was looking. She managed to get a cup out of her cup drawer, get an opened soda off the counter, and POUR herself a glass of soda without spilling it! I saw her walk by me drinking soda and though Kriss had gotten it for her. I asked him about it and he said he didnt give it to her. I went in the kitchen, prepared for a disastrous mess. To my utter surprise there was only one small drop on the floor and an empty soda can on the counter.

OMG I am beaming with pride!! I know it's kind of trivial but the reason I am so surprised is because she is over the phase of dumping the glass of liquid all over the floor!! HURRAY!

Also the fact that she is so stinkin' smart for a 2 yr old... it just slays me! She knows her colors, shapes, and HALF her letters. She can recite her alphabet and numbers up to 10. She even knows a few japanese words.

Here is a list of all those silly things I LOVE about her:

She calls feathers, Duck hair!
She tells our dog Gracie to "Sit" "Stay" "Good Girl, Good Girl" as well as daddy!
She loves to hunt fireflies.
She LOVES squishy toys, her favorites being Lizard (Uurd as she calls him) and Frog.
She makes her snake sound by going "Ththththth."
She knows all her animals and the sounds they makes, and even spends most of her day impersonating those animals.
She knows how to whistle, but its really a high pitched shriek :D
She dances and sings and always makes me take her hands and join her.
She LOVES legos and always builds cars, houses, beds, etc for her toys.
She thinks Gracie likes to play with the legos too, but really the dog is just rolling in them.
When someone starts to leave (without her) she says "Wait, I need shoes" and runs off to get them.
When I dont dress her for the day, she will eventually tell me "Mommy, I need shirt pants!"
When she smells something stinky she plugs her nose and says "Tomping mells mommy!"
She likes to pick dandelions and carry them around like a trophy, occasionally sniffing them.
She loves to ride horses... anything could be one, a yard stick, a box, a stuffed eeyore doll (which she sits on and flattens, OMG that cracks me up).
Her wooden rocking horse is getting too small for her, so when she does ride it, she constantly does Pop-a-Wheelies.
She picks her nose and knows better than wiping it on mommy, so she does on daddy!
She thinks that drinking the scummy water from the dishwasher, as I'm loading dirty dishes, is the best.
She will unroll a WHOLE roll of toilet paper into the toilet and flush it.
Every time I go to the bathroom, she has to go sit on her potty too. We just sit, chat, and poo haha.
She will drop everything she is doing when she sees me get out the nail polish.
Whenever I paint my toenails, she HAS to have hers done first. So she sticks her feet on top of mine to make sure!
She knows how to get a drinkable yogurt out of the fridge and get a straw out of her cup drawer. Comes to me saying "Mommy open gogurt", then proceeds to giggle with glee as I open it.
When I'm at my computer desk and she wants something, she will spin my chair around to face her, then grab my finger and pull it out of joint, trying to get me out of the chair (because she wants something).
When I make food, as soon as it's done, she starts screaming "Highchair Highchair" indicating she is ready to eat!
When she is done eating, she thinks its funny to climb out of the highchair. Its low to the ground, so no biggie
She likes to sit under my desk w/Gracie and pull on my mouse cord, making it impossible to use it.

I could go on and on. I only wanted to write them down so I would never forget all those silly little things that make me smile. I'm sure the list will just get longer as she grows. I really dont want her to grow up. I want her to stay my baby forever!!

Here are those pictures I promised! I hope you like them! The ones where she is wearing the pink polka dot dress were taken on Mother's day. She wanted to dress up pretty so I thought I should take some pics of her.

3.19.2005

Today was a really nice day. The weather was upper 60's lower 70's. Alie and I cleaned out my car from top to bottom. It looks all shiny and new now! We also played in the yard and I got out my digital camera, in hopes of capturing a good picture. Turns out, I got one on the first shot! All I had to do was ask her if she wanted candy and she lit right up!!

Alie has been going through a growth spurt lately. She wakes up in the middle of the night, wanting to eat a snack. Her vocabulary is also improving. She can now count to 10 and say her alphabet. Not fluently, but fairly well. She recognizes the numbers 1-5, and the letter A and B. She also recognizes the color red and the star shape. I think those are her favorites.

She is now taking dance and gymnastics. She loves the classes. She only goes once a week to both of them. I think she likes her gymnastics better, because she now practices summersaults all around. She rolled off the couch the other day and landed head first on the floor. She was ok, cried a tad.

She has been having such a blast hanging out with her friends. She is so full of hugs and loves when she sees them. She also has an attitude when someone makes her mad. She throws toys, or whatever she has in her hands. She threw her cup of water at my grandma when we were at lunch the other day. Landed right in my grandma's plate. It was sooo funny, but of course, I had to scold her. Sometimes she throws really heavy things, maybe I should enroll her in baseball LOL!

Today was pretty intresting. I was busy working on projects and Kriss was playing poker on the comp. I thought Kriss was still watching her, and he thought I was. Turns out, she was up on her changing table, having a blast with the desitin. It was such a mess!!! So hard to clean that stuff off too. She is still greasy, guess it will take a few baths. I took some pictures of her fun, right before her bath. I also took some of her after bath, just to show how much she has grown. Enjoy!

I am finally posting! Sorry it has been so long! Alie is now 2 years old, still can't believe that. Her vocabulary has quadrupled since I last posted. She can speak 2-3 word sentances. I will try to post more often about her. I just hadn't been in a blogging mood for so long. Here are some pictures of her birthday. I'll post more pictures of her, probably tomorrow.

3.19.2004

Alie has even more new words. She now says "wow", "weee", "ouch", "baaa" (like a sheep), "See ya", "yay", and "Alie". It's so funny to hear her say her own name, she repeats it back to you when you call her. She can't say the S part in "See ya", so she says it like "eee ya". She got that saying from an alphabet toy she got from christmas. It says that when it is shut off, or shuts off automatically.

3.03.2004

Well Alie went to the doctors yesterday. It was for her 15 mo. check up even though she is 16 mo. now. She had to miss her 15 mo. one due to she had the double ear infection. The doc said she is doing well in her growth and learning skills. She now weighs 21 lbs and 4 oz. which is in the 10th percentile (means she is only heavier than 10 kids out of 100). She is 30 inches tall, so that puts her in the 25th percentile. Her head is 18 1/2 " and that is just average or 50%. I guess basically, she is just a small kid. In fact, she has only gained a few ounces since her 12 mo. appt. so she literally is the same size. Actually, she is almost the same size as she was at 9 mo. I just found her paper from then. At that age she was 21 lbs. and 28 inches. Back then, she was considered a tad over average or in 60th percentile. Wow, that means she can still wear her summer clothes this year, hopefully!

In other news, Alie is now officially a walker. She can walk an average of 10 or more steps at a time since sunday. She has been doing more and more walking each day. I put her in dresses mostly, because she hates crawling in them. Her knees get stuck on them, so it forces her to walk. She can also say a few more words. She can now say "thank you" and some of her ABC's as well as sorta sing "Old McDonald" song. She only says the EIEIO part. Her favorite word is "Please". She says it like "peepeepee" sounding like a little chick. This is the word that she says the most, by far.

2.12.2004

Alie has made big improvements! She can now take 4 or 5 steps at a time, usually walking to me. She gets so excited when she accomplishes this. Big smiles and squeals, makes me so happy. She also has a new words, she says Uh-Oh, and can bark like a dog. Her new stunt is to bring me things that she wants fixed. She will bring me her empty sippy cup or her bouncing tigger (to turn him on). One thing she is still doing that drives me nuts is her fits. She has new bruises on her forehead due to banging her head when she is mad. I try my best to prevent her banging, but most of them happen when I am not close by or am not looking. It is so nerve wrecking!

2.05.2004

Alie has a new thing she does when she throws a fit. As you can see in her picture below, she has a bruised forehead. She now bangs her head on whatever she can find. I just hope this new thing is a faze and that she will quit before she ends up with any brain damage. Click on the pics to see them larger!

Alison has new words now! She can say "Hi", "Bye-bye", "Mommy", "Daddy", "Please", "Yes", "Baby", and "Night-night". She just started saying all of these words basically over the last week. She has also been sick this week since saturday. She has 2 ear infections and a sinus infection. Poor girl has been miserable the whole weekend. We were finally able to go see the doctor today and got her some medicine. I will be so glad to get her feeling better. It just breaks my heart to see her in pain.

12.09.2003

Alie took her first step! It was actually done on Dec. 6. She stepped from Mommy to Daddy, so neither one of us missed it. I also have some new pictures of Alie! Click on each picture to see the whole album.
